Verse no. 177 in Sūrat al-Baqarah. Allah, the Almighty, presents the ways of goodness therein.

الشرح المختصر

"Ᾱyat al-Birr" (the Verse of Righteousness) is verse no. 177 in Sūrat al-Baqarah. It is one of the greatest and most comprehensive verses, as it includes a body of religious rules and fundamentals, such as belief in Allah, the angels, the revealed Books, and the Prophets, as well as the obligatory and recommended charities, showing kindness to travelers and guests, emancipation of slaves, regular performance of prayer, fulfillment of covenants, and display of patience during hardships. "Birr" is a term that encompasses all types of goodness and benevolence.
