One of the Qaraamitah sects that is named after a man called Ma'moon al-Qirmiti.

الشرح المختصر

"Al-Ma'mooniyyah" (A deviant sect) is one of the Qaraamitah sects whose advocates are the followers of a Persian man called "Ma'moon", the brother of Hamdaan ibn Qirmit. That is why the Qaraamitah of Persia were called "Ma'mooniyyah". The Qaraamitah is one of the Baatiniyyah sects, followers of Hamdaan ibn Qirmit. They interpret texts of the Qur'an and Sunnah in false meanings. They, for example, distort the meaning of prayer and claim that it means revealing their secrets. Also, they claim that fasting means hiding their secrets. whereas Hajj means visiting their scholars. They distorted the meanings of all other acts of worship in this manner.
