misleading by omission (تَدْلِيْس الإِسْقَاط)

الحديث

التعريف :

To drop one of the narrators in the chain of transmission of a hadith, using a formula that suggests, but not definitely, hearing from the one after the dropped narrator, such as to say ‘from so-and-so’, or ‘that so-and-so said’. Some hadith scholars call this tadlīs al-isnād.
