من موسوعة المصطلحات الإسلامية

المعنى الاصطلاحي

Fleeing from what Allah dislikes outwardly and inwardly to what He likes outwardly and inwardly so as to be saved from punishment and earn divine reward.

الشرح المختصر

"Firār ila Allah" (fleeing to Allah) is a rank that combines the meanings of fear and hope; fearing Allah's punishment and hoping to win His reward. It is achieved when one is alarmed and flees from the divine punishment, from the devil, from sins, and from everything other than Allah. One flees to obeying Allah, the Ever-Merciful, embracing faith, and following His Messenger, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him. Allah commands us to flee to Him, thus guiding us to know that He is more merciful to us than anyone besides Him.
