One of the "Baatiniyyah" sects which claims that the [only] way to knowledge is to learn it from the 'infallible Imam in the hide' and to give up critical and inductive reasoning.
"At-Ta‘leemiyyah" is one of the Ismaa‘eeliyyah Baatiniyyah sects. They are called thus because their doctrine is based on banning reason, invalidating critical reasoning, and calling for following the 'infallible Imam in the hide'. They claim that the Imam must be followed, believed, and emulated as much as the Messenger of Allah, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him. They believe that it is not allowed to learn knowledge from anyone other than the Imam. To prove this, they argue that the truth can be known either by reasoning or learning but that it is invalid to learn it through reasoning because it causes conflicting opinions given the difference among men of reason. Hence, the only way left is to acquire knowledge through learning. According to them, the only person from whom knowledge can be learned is the infallible Imam given the certainty about the authenticity of his knowledge and his trustfulness. In fact, they made it so that the only way to knowledge is to learn it from the infallible Imam because they know that their beliefs go against sound reason.
"Ta‘leemiyyah": related to education, which is to identify something and teach knowledge to others. It is mostly associated with repetitive and extensive teaching which leaves an effect in the mind of the learner.
