A Mu`tazili sect ascribed to Ahmad ibn Khaabit.
The Khaabitiyyah, a Mu`tazili sect, are the followers of Ahmad ibn Khaabit (d. 232 AH), a companion of An-Nazzaam. Ibn Khaabit was influenced by Nazzaam, Christianity, the philosophers, and others. Beliefs: 1. The universe has two lords and two creators: an eternal Lord (Allah); a created lord (Jesus son of Mary). 2. `Isa, peace be upon him, became a body after he had been an intellect. He will call people to account on the Day of Judgement. He created Adam, peace be upon him. 3- Transmigration of souls. 4- Every species of animals is a community that has a native messenger. 5- Seeing Allah means seeing the first intellect, i.e. the first created being. The giver of intellect, however, cannot be seen.
"Khaabitiyyah": the Khaabitiyyah Sect, which was named after its founder Ahmad ibn Khaabit.
