Changes affecting the form of a word. These are of two types: 1) giving the root word different forms, with different meanings. These forms are: the diminutive, the augmentative, the root, nouns of time and place, active and passive participles, nouns ending with the long vowel ā, and those ending with a glottal stop after the vowel ā; and 2) changes due to an additional element of meaning. These forms are adding or omitting letters, replacing one letter by another, changing the positions of one or two letters and the assimilation of two letters in a doubled one.
