المعنى الاصطلاحي :

Steadfastness upon the path of truth and adherence to it without deviation or transgression.

الشرح المختصر :

"Thabaat" (steadfastness) on the religion of Allah Almighty without deviation therefrom is the noblest goal of every Muslim. It is the path to salvation in this life and the Hereafter and the means to genuine happiness. It is achieved by adhering to Shari`ah, referring to it for judgment, and following its way inwardly and outwardly. These include: patience, seeking refuge in Allah from temptations, being aware that Allah is watching, carrying out His commands, seeking the company of the righteous believers, and not exposing oneself to temptations.

التعريف اللغوي المختصر :

"Thabaat": stillness, stability. Original meaning: continuity, permanence. Opposite: "zawaal" (impermanence), "inqitaa`" (cessation). Other meanings: uprightness, abidance, adherence.
