short chain of transmission (عُلُوّ الإِسْنَاد)

التعريف :

A chain of transmission with a small number of narrators between the scholar reporting the hadith and the prophet (peace be upon him), or between the scholar and one of the leading Imams of the hadith discipline. It is called ‘shortness of distance’ and it is of two types: absolute and relative.
