appropriated land (أرضُ الحَوْزِ)

الفقه

التعريف :

A piece of land that has become the state property, either because its owners have passed away, leaving behind none to inherit them, or because it was taken over by war or a peace treaty but the Muslim ruler did not distribute it to the military personnel and did not leave it to its owners, making his decision on the basis of a clear interest of the community. It is given this name because the Muslim ruler has appropriated it to the public treasury.
