opening (الفَتْح)

علوم القرآن

التعريف :

The reciter opens his mouth to utter a sound. This does not include what is called ‘fatḥ al-alif’, or the ‘ā’ sound, because the ‘ā’ cannot be attached to a short vowel. Its ‘fatḥ’ is its normal pronunciation, which is the opposite of diphthongisation, pronouncing it as ‘ei’.
