the Ꜥadl elogation (مَدُّ الْعَدْل)

This applies to two types of elongation. The first is to insert the long vowel ā in between two glottal stops, as in aʾandhartahum (2: 6). This applies to the variant recitations that inset this vowel between the first and the second glottal stop, whether the second is realised or softened. The other type is the obligatory elongation of a vowel followed by a doubled consonant in the same word, as in walaḍḍāllīn (1: 7).
