Knowledge of rules that imply knowledge of how to proceed from what is known to what is unknown, and the applicable conditions so that the possibility of error is removed. This is one of the Greek areas of knowledge the Arabs translated. Aristotle was one of its main proponents. Indeed, it is often attributed to Aristotle, as we say Aristotelian logic. It is considered preliminary to philosophy.
