Hadiths that have chains of transmission that include four narrators between the hadith scholar relating them and the prophet (peace be upon him), but the chain of transmission includes two companions of the prophet or two from the tābiꜤīn reporting from each other. Although these are two, they are treated as one because they belong to the same class or stage.
