The followers of Nestorius who differed with other Christian sects on several issues; most importantly that Mary was not the ‘mother of God’, and that Jesus had two distinct entities, not one: a divine entity which is the word, and a human entity which is Jesus. Mary gave birth only to the human entity which was the one that endured pain, was crucified and died on the cross. He is not God, because God is ever-living and never dies.
