التعريف
The theory introduced by Khomeini in the twelver Shia, establishing the concept that a jurist, or faqīh has a general authority of governance on behalf of the Mahdī until he returns. He authored his two books Islamic government and Wilāyat al-Faqīh to prove it. He confined this authority to Shia scholars in particular.
