A description of a hadith implying that it is close to an authentic hadith. This is a term particularly used by Imam Abu Dāwūd, applying it to the hadith of the ‘good’ grade, which is a hadith with a complete chain of transmission that includes an unblemished narrator who is suspect on accuracy, yet it is free of irregularity and defects.
