The possibility of multiple meanings for a single thing.

الشرح المختصر :

"Ihtimāl" (possibility) means the flexibility of something to accommodate more than one meaning. This includes both statements and actions. It has a number of phases: 1) It could be strong so that it reaches the degree of assumption. 2) Sometimes the person remains hesitant and finds nothing to have preponderance over the other, so possibility here remains within the degree of doubt.

التعريف اللغوي المختصر :

"Ihtimāl": probability and possibility. Opposite: "qat‘" (definiteness) and "yaqeen" (certainty). It is derived from "haml", which means lifting. Other meanings: commitment, patience, endurance.
