الشرح المختصر :

"As-Sab‘ al-Mathāni" (the seven-verse surah/ the often-repeated surah) is the great Sūrah and the Mother of the Qur’an. Sūrat al-Fātihah is called "As-Sab‘ al-Mathāni", because it is repeated in each unit of the prayer, or because it was revealed twice. It consists of twenty five words, with a total of one hundred and twenty-three letters. Al-Fātihah has several names, including: "Al-Hamd" (the praise), "Ash-Shāfiyah" (the healer), "Al-Asās" (the foundation), "Umm al-Qur’an" (the Mother of the Qur’an), "Umm al-Kitāb" (the Mother of the Book), "Al-Wāfiyah" (the comprehensive), "Al-Kāfiyah" (the sufficient), "As-Salāh" (the prayer), as well as others.
