The imams to whom the fourteen recitations of the Qur‘an are ascribed.
"Al-Qurrā’ al-Arba‘ata ‘Ashar" (the fourteen reciters) is the title given to the reciters of the fourteen Qur’anic recitations. These are: 1. The reciters of the seven famous recitations which are transmitted through multiple continuous chains of narration, and they are: Nāfi‘, Ibn Khatheer, Abu ‘Amr, Ibn ‘Āmir, ‘Āsim, Hamzah, Al-Kisā’i. 2. The three reciters added to the seven to complete the ten recitations: Abu Ja‘far, Ya‘qūb, and Khalaf. 3. The rour remaining reciters: Al-Hasan al-Basri, Ibn Muhaysan, Al-Yazeedi, and Al-A‘mash.
