الحميد
(الحمد) في اللغة هو الثناء، والفرقُ بينه وبين (الشكر): أن (الحمد)...
A sect of Scholastic Theology ("`ilm-ul-kalaam") that branches from "An-Najjaariyyah". Members of this sect follow Az-Za`faraani. They opined that Allah’s speech is separate from Him, that everything separate from Allah is created, and therefore whoever says that Allah’s speech is not created is a disbeliever.
"Az-Za`faraaniyyah" is a branch of "An-Najjaariyyah". They are the followers of Az-Za`faraani, who stayed in Ar-Rayy. At the end of his speech, he would say things contradictory to what he said at the beginning of the same speech, and he used to express his views in contradictory terms. An example of this is his statement: Allah’s speech is separate from Him, and everything that is separate from Allah is created. Then he would say: A dog is better than a person who says that Allah’s speech is created. Obviously, what should be questioned in a person who says things like these is his mental ability rather than his religious views.
"Az-Za`faraaniyyah’’: a sect attributed to a man called Az-Za`faraani, who was in Ar-Rayy. Originally, "Az-Za`faraaniyyah" is a village in Hamadan, south east of Baghdad. "Za’faraan": saffron, which is a famous plant used as a treatment, perfume, and dye.
