المعنى الاصطلاحي

Extreme covetousness of one's wealth or another's wealth before attaining it and withholding it from others after attaining it.

الشرح المختصر

"Shuh" (stinginess) is a trait that leads one to be extremely keen on amassing wealth, be it money or something else, whether it belongs to him or to someone else. Then, when he attains it, he is stingy and withholds it from people, whether they have a right to that wealth, like the poor and needy, or not. Some of its evil consequences are: 1. It is from the traits of the hypocrites and a cause of the destruction and corruption of society. 2. A cause of loss in this world and the Hereafter. 3. Deprivation of the reward of spending in good causes. 4. Incurring sin because of withholding it and not fulfilling one's duties towards others and their rights over him.

التعريف اللغوي المختصر
