A sect of the Kharijites who believe that if the ruler is a disbeliever, then his subjects are disbelievers as well.

الشرح المختصر

"Al-‘Awfiyyah" is a Kharijite sect who believe that it is permissible to rebel against the Muslim rulers. This sect is also called Al-‘Awniyyah, branching off from Al-Bayhasiyyah sect, the followers of Abi Bayhas Haysam ibn Jabir. From their beliefs: 1. If the Muslim ruler commits disbelief, then his present and absent subjects are disbelievers as well, no matter where they are. 2. Permissibility of killing the Muslims and seizing their properties. 3. Considering intoxication an act of disbelief, but they do not call it disbelief unless associated with another act, such as abandoning the prayer. "Al-‘Awfiyyah" is divided into two categories: 1. A sect who holds that if anyone leaves their land of immigration and stops fighting with them, then they disassociate themselves from him. 2. Another sect who does not disassociate themselves from them because they returned to something that was permissible for them.
