المعنى الاصطلاحي :


Giving up obedience by abandoning a commandment or committing a prohibition in words or actions, whether apparent or hidden.

الشرح المختصر :


"‘Isyān" (disobedience) means violating the Islamic Shariah either by abandoning its commandments or by committing its prohibitions. "‘Isyān" is of two categories: major sins and minor sins. It is also divided into what is related to the rights of humans, and what is related to the rights of Allah. Harms of "‘isyān": 1. Deprivation of knowledge and piety. 2. Deprivation of sustenance, for just as piety brings about sustenance, abandoning piety is a cause of poverty. 3. Averting one from acts of obedience and acts of worship. 4. Shortening one"s lifespan, and taking away the blessing. 5. It leads to other sins.

التعريف اللغوي المختصر :


"‘Isyān": opposition, disobedience. Opposite: "tā‘ah" (obedience). It is derived from "‘asw" which means pulling and gathering. Other meanings: refusal, guilt, rebellion, opposition, disunity.
