المعنى الاصطلاحي :
Opposing Allah and His Messenger, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, and obstinately defying them while showing animosity to Islam and the Muslims.
الشرح المختصر :
"Muhāddat al-lah wa rasoolih" (opposition to Allah and His Messenger) is to abandon the legislation of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, and to turn away from them, go against them, and show enmity towards them. It has variable degrees and levels: 1. It may be caused by disbelief and polytheism, like the opposition of the polytheists, the Jews, and the Christians. 2. Or it may be of a lesser degree, like the opposition of the people of religious innovations whose innovation does not take them out of Islam. 3. And it may be below this degree as well, like the opposition of the sinners and the perpetrators of grave, major sins.
