A group of extremist Rawaafid that are attributed to Muhammad ibn an-Nu‘maan.
“An-Nu`maaniyyah” is one of the extremist groups of the Rawaafid, also known as “Ash-Shaytaaniyyah”, i.e. the Satanic. They follow a man called Muhammad ibn ‘Ali ibn an-Nu‘maan, aka Abu Ja‘far al-Ahwal. He was nicknamed the Devil of At-Taaq. He died 160 A.H. The beliefs of An-Nu‘maaniyyah group include the following: 1. The essence of Allah, the Almighty, is a non-physical light in a human form. 2. The knowledge of Allah about things comes into existence and is not eternal; so He does not know about things until they occur.
“An-Nu‘maaniyyah”: An-Nu‘maaniyyah sect. They are called thus because they follow a man named Muhammad ibn an-Nu‘maan.
