One of the Murji"ah sects that is attributed to Yoonus ibn ‘Awn an-Numayri.

الشرح المختصر

"Al-Yoonisiyyah" is one of the extremist sects of the Murji"ah that adopts its original principles (they do not combine the principles of "irjā", "qadar", and "jabr") and have deviant thoughts concerning the issue of faith. They are the followers of a man called Yoonus ibn ‘Awn an-Numayri and claim that faith is knowledge. Some of the beliefs and thoughts of "Al-Yoonisiyyah": 1. Faith is in the heart and the tongue, does not increase or decrease, and is unaffected by sin. 2. A believer will enter Paradise based on his sincerity and love, not his deeds. 3. Iblees was knowledgeable of Allah and His oneness but disbelieved because of his arrogance. 4. Having general knowledge of what the Prophets came with is part of faith; while detailed knowledge, however, is not part of faith.
