التعريف
To look at the case of every individual and what is applicable to him or her of duties, so as to identify how Satan, personal desire and temptations could influence them, so as to take these in consideration when giving a ruling applicable to that person. This is a term coined by al-shāṭibī, but most scholars of principles of jurisprudence incorporate this under taḥqīq al-manāṭ, i.e. applying a general rule to an individual case.
