التواب
التوبةُ هي الرجوع عن الذَّنب، و(التَّوَّاب) اسمٌ من أسماء الله...
That the narrator states which of the two meanings the hadith implies is the correct one. This is considered as binding interpretation by the ShāfiꜤī and Ḥanbalī schools, while the Ḥanafīs hold a different view. An example is the hadith narrated by ibn ꜤUmar: ‘the two parties to a sale continue to have a choice [to go ahead or withdraw] as long as they have not parted’. Ibn ꜤUmar interprets the hadith as meaning physical parting, not verbal.
