التعريف
One of the methods of analogy in rational matters. It involves drawing an analogy between what is mentally understood and what is real and material, confirming or denying a particular quality of the latter, because both have the real meaning of the quality needed to be confirmed for both, even though they may differ in its application to each, with regard to quantity, creation, duration of life, etc. For example we may say: the reality of a knower is that he is one who has knowledge. God is all-knowing; therefore, he has knowledge. This is mentioned to answer those who acknowledge God’s names and deny his attributes.
