These are ten. Four of them, ‘wa, fa, thumma and ḥattā’, imply that the meaning applies to what comes before and after them. Three others, ‘aw, immā and am’ imply that the meaning applies to either one, and the last three, ‘lā, bal and lākin’ imply that the two parts have different meanings.
