Showing extreme mercy to others in such a way that allows no harm or trouble to befall them.
الشرح المختصر
"Ra’fah" (compassion) is a noble quality and a characteristic of the believers. This quality extends to all of Allah’s creatures, including people and animals, whether they are far or close, Muslim or non-Muslim. It is a type of mercy towards others that prevents harm or trouble from befalling them.
التعريف اللغوي المختصر
"Ra’fah": extreme and abundant mercy. "Ar-Ra’oof": one who is extremely merciful to others. "Ra’fah" is to ward off harm from someone, while "rahmah" is to ward off harm and bring good. Original meaning: tenderness, mercy.
