"Ra’fah" (compassion) is a noble quality and a characteristic of the believers. "Ra’fah": extreme and abundant mercy. "Ar-Ra’oof": one who is extremely merciful to others. "Ra’fah" is to ward off harm from someone, while "rahmah" is to ward off harm and bring good. Original meaning: tenderness, mercy.
