silence (السُّكُوت)

التعريف :
To remain silent, saying nothing despite being able to speak.
المعنى الاصطلاحي :
"Sukūt" is a state in which the person praying behind the Imam does not recite loudly in a congregational prayer when the Imam recites with an audible voice.
التعريف اللغوي المختصر :
"Sukūt": keeping silent while being able to speak. Opposite: "nutq" (uttering).
