المعنى الاصطلاحي
To verbally or physically harm someone in their body, wealth, or honor.
الشرح المختصر
"Soo’ al-mu‘aamalah" (maltreatment) is one of the bad manners. It is to harm others in their body, wealth, or honor. It can exist either in physical or financial transactions, such as buying or renting, or in behavioral and moral transactions with oneself or with others such as one's neighbor, wife, friend, father, etc. Maltreatment is of two types: 1. Verbal maltreatment: such as abusing, cursing, backbiting, etc. 2. Actual maltreatment: such as abandoning a Muslim, pointing towards him with a weapon or the like.
