التعريف
- a hadith that: 1) has a continuous chain of transmission in which a reliable and accurate narrator reports from a similarly reliable and accurate one, from the beginning to the end of the chain; 2) its narrator is free of contradicting more reliable transmitters (i.e. irregularity); and it has no substantial flaw detracting from their authenticity. This is what is meant when the term ‘authentic’ is generally used.
