Narrator who did not live during the Prophet's lifetime and narrated from the young Companions.
"Taabi`oon" (followers/successors) are those who met any of the Prophet's Companions and died as Muslims. They are three classes: senior, middle, and young "taabi`oon". "Sighaar-ut-Taabi`een" are those who lived during the lifetime of the young Companions who died quite late, such as Anas ibn Maalik and Abu Umaamah al-Baahili, may Allah be pleased with them. Therefore, most of their narrations were from the "taabi`oon". Some scholars believe that the age of "sighaar-ut-taabi`een" ends at around 150 AH. They include, for example, Ibn Shihaab az-Zuhri, Qataadah ibn Di`aamah as-Sudoosi, and others.
Members of the tābiꜤīn generation who interacted with the younger companions of the prophet, died as Muslims and learnt most of their narrations from other tābiꜤīn.
