The woman's dowry when getting married or in similar cases.
"‘Uqr" (dowry) is the dowry given to a woman for getting married, whether it is stated in the marriage contract or thereafter by the consent of the spouses or the judgement of a third party. "‘Uqr" also refers to what is given to the woman for things similar to marriage, such as sexual intercourse that took place mistakenly or fornicating with a slave girl or with a woman under coercion.
"‘Uqr": dowry, compensation paid in case of rape or having sexual intercourse mistakenly believing it to be lawful.
A dowry given to a woman with whom a man had sexual intercourse by mistake. The word is derived from the action of a man having intercourse with a virgin woman, usually causing her to bleed. Therefore, what she is given in indemnity for this injury was first called Ꜥuqr, then the word was used to apply to all women, whether virgins or not. The plural form is aꜤqār.
