A description of a narrator implying his perfect accuracy and that his narrations are like scales to weigh up other narrators’ hadiths to establish their authenticity. Qabbān is an old type of scales, with a long arm divided into sections, with a heavy ball, called rummānah moving along it to determine the weight of what is being weighed.
