Renting a riding animal or the like to ride it for a certain length of time or a certain distance.
"Kirā’ al-‘uqab" or "kirā’ al-‘uqabah" (renting a riding turn/renting part of ride) is a type of rental that has two forms: 1. Renting one's riding animal to two persons so that each of them rides the animal for a certain time or distance alternately. 2. Renting one's riding animal to someone to ride it for a certain time or distance to cover part of the road, and the owner of the animal rides the other part. It was given this name because the two renters or the renter and owner alternate on the back of the animal. "Kirā’" means renting, and "‘aqb" means the succession of a thing after another. "Ta‘āqub" means taking turns.
A person hires a mount to two men so that each one will ride for a certain number of days covering an agreed distance, and the other rides a similar number. It is given this name because each of the two men follows the other in his turn.
