التعريف :


To be a flatterer. To see what is wrong and one is able to speak out against it, but remains silent in order to please others.

المعنى الاصطلاحي :


Socializing with the people of sins and showing pleasure and satisfaction with what they are doing, while having the ability to denounce it, in order to obtain a worldly gain.

الشرح المختصر :


"Mudaahanah", or adulation, means refraining from performing the duties that one has towards Allah such as showing intolerance of sins, enjoining what is good, and forbidding what is evil, and overlooking these duties in order to obtain a worldly gain or satisfy a personal desire. In other words, it means exchanging one's religion for worldly gains by approving and flattering someone and refraining from denouncing him, despite knowing that he is wrong, in order to serve a worldly interest. This means selling one's religion for his worldly life - We ask Allah for safety.

التعريف اللغوي المختصر :


"Mudaahanah": showing outwardly the opposite of what one feels inwardly. Other meanings: flattery.
