المعنى الاصطلاحي

A Magian sect that believes in two gods; a god of light, and a god of darkness. They believe that there was once only light, and then part of it changed until it became darkness.

الشرح المختصر

“Al-Maskhiyyah” is a Magian pagan sect that believes in two principles: 1. Light, which is what they call the god Yazdan or Ahura Mazda. 2. Darkness, which is what they call the god Ahriman. They lived many centuries before the birth of Jesus. They tend to believe in the notion of reincarnation and transmigration of souls. The majority of the scholars agreed that it is permissible to accept “jizyah” (a per capita yearly tax historically levied by Islamic states on certain non-Muslim subjects who permanently reside in Muslim lands under Islamic law) from them, but they differed on how much their blood money should be.

التعريف

A Magian sect. They believe in two origins: light which represent Ahura Mazda the supreme being and deity of wisdom, and darkness representing the evil deity Ahriman. They differ with other Magian sects as they say that light was originally pure light, but a part of it was transformed into darkness through metamorphosis. Hence they are called Maskhiyyah, i.e. believers in metamorphosis.
