The degrees of the nasal feature of articulation in which the tongue has no role to play. These are five degrees of strength: 1) doubled n or m sound, as in annās (114: 1); 2) assimilated n, as in man yaꜤmal (99: 8); 3) glide, as in manthūrā (76: 19); 4) realised n or m without a short vowel, as in tanḥitūn (26: 149); and 5) realised n or m followed by a vowel, as in yujīranī (74: 22).
