Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported a story similar to that of Sahl ibn Sa‘d on marriage in exchange for the Qur’an, but he did not mention the lower garment and the ring. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "How much have you memorized of Qur’an?" He said: "Sūrat al-Baqarah or the one that follows it." He said: "Stand up and teach her twenty verses; she is your wife."

شرح الحديث :

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported the story of the woman who offered herself to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) in marriage but he was not interested in her. A man asked the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) to marry that woman off to him. So the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) asked the man how much he had memorized of the Qur’an. The man said that he learned Sūrat al-Baqarah or the next chapter. Hence, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) married the woman off to him with a dowry of teaching her twenty verses. The dowry is required, for it is a right for the woman to make use of. If she is satisfied with his knowledge and religion, that would be the best, most useful, and noblest dowry to receive.
