الجبار
الجَبْرُ في اللغة عكسُ الكسرِ، وهو التسويةُ، والإجبار القهر،...
Mahmūd ibn Labīd reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was told about a man who had divorced his wife thrice with three simultaneous divorces. He stood up angrily and said: "Is the Book of Allah being tampered with while I am still present among you?" Then a man stood up and said: "O Messenger of Allah, shall I kill him?"
The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was told that a man had given his wife a triple divorce without restoring her in between. He got angry on such grounds and considered such a practice a ridicule of, and a play with, the laws of Allah. The rule is that a Muslim man may give his wife one divorce when her menstrual cycle is over and he has not had a sexual intercourse with her. The divorce should be (pronounced) once so that he will be able to restore her. However, if he gives her a triple divorce, he does not give himself a way out to restoring his wife. So a triple divorce is forbidden and not complying with the Sunnah. Finally, this Hadīth is weak, but its meaning is valid.
