الحميد
(الحمد) في اللغة هو الثناء، والفرقُ بينه وبين (الشكر): أن (الحمد)...
‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Abbās (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him said: “Allah has pardoned for my sake the mistakes and forgetfulness of my Ummah, and what they were coerced to do.”
An aspect of the divine mercy is that Allah, the Almighty, forgives Muslims their unintended sins, their forgetfulness of obligations (noting that obligations should be fulfilled when remembered), as well as the sins and crimes which they commit under coercion. In this regard, Allah says: ﴿And He has not placed upon you in the religion any hardship.﴾ [Sūrat al-Hajj: 78]
