‘Ā'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The people who will receive the severest punishment on the Day of Resurrection will be those who try to emulate Allah's creation."

شرح الحديث :

This Hadīth of the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) is a statement that implies forbiddance and deterrence. It warns that those who make images of animate beings wherein they try to compete with Allah in terms of creation will be the most tormented people on the Day of Resurrection because they are the most impolite with Allah and the most audacious in transgressing His sacred limits. Accordingly, they deserve this punishment as an appropriate recompense.
