التعريف :
The food that is prepared for the one who has just returned from distant travel.
المعنى الاصطلاحي :
Food made for a returning traveler.
التعريف اللغوي المختصر :
"Naqee‘ah": food prepared for a returning traveler. Derived from "naq‘", which means something settling in something else; and it was also said to mean: splitting, slaughtering, gathering. It is called thus because animals are slaughtered for that purpose, or because it involves a gathering.
