middling (وَسَط)

التعريف :
A description of a hadith narrator indicating that there is some lack of accuracy in his narrations. The term is one of the sixth grade, the lowest of the acceptable grades.
المعنى الاصطلاحي :
Attributes that are moderate and fall exactly in the middle between two extremes.
التعريف اللغوي المختصر :
"Wasat": moderate. "Wasatiyyah": taking a middle course between two extremes. Original meaning: half of something. Other meanings: the best, the finest, environment/medium.
