The blight that damages whatever it afflicts of crops, property, and the like.
"Āfah" (blight) means a defect, whether congenital or accidental. Scholars of Fiqh restrict it to it being something from force majeure, which human beings have no hand in, such as the worm affecting crops. Scholars of Fiqh also mention that the "jā’ihah" (calamity) is the "āfah" that affects crops or plants, and the thunder strikes from the heaven, in which humans have no hand.
"Āfah": the defect that damages whatever it afflicts.
