''Tanassul" (disclaiming/disavowal) is an attribute that is mentioned in the Qur'an and the Sunnah. It has two types: 1. Praiseworthy "tanassul": When one disavows polytheism, bad morals such as miserliness, their means and causes. 2. Blameworthy "tanassul": When one disclaims contracts, covenants, rights, and other responsibilities for which he is liable, and does not fulfill them duly. This second type has a serious impact on the individual and the society, such as the spread of chaos and laziness, violation of rights and trusts, the descent of divine punishment on those who do that, and other bad consequences.
''Tanassul'': disavowal, disposal. It is derived from "nusool", which means emergence and prominence of something. Other meanings: alteration, denial, renunciation, escape.
